Barbara’s Story

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was a child, and I never stopped.  It is practical and creative—it can be the difference in wearing baggy, unattractive clothes to nicely fitted tops and correct length jeans and skirts!  You can create decorations such as pillows, curtains and quilts that match the season or your mood!  Wait…..did you say Quilts?

A friend introduced me to quilting about 20 years ago.  I fell in love with piecing, how I could essentially “create my own fabric” then sew it into clothes, pillows and quilts.  After a few years, I wanted to take the next step and add the quilting stiches to the projects myself.  I started the quilting journey on my domestic machine with free motion quilting.

Now, with many experiences under my belt, and several machine upgrades, I longarm quilt on a 14 ft frame, using a professional APQS machine.  I love complementing quilt piecing with quilting stitches that enhance the overall design.  I started to quilt for others because I know how disappointing it can be to finish a quilt top, then feel stuck with how to finish it, who will finish it, how much will it cost, where can I find a person to do the quilting, etc.  I wanted to streamline that process for you, so you can get your project completed, enjoy it or gift it and get on with your many other creations.

I started Quilted! because it’s not finished until it’s Quilted!
